Open Studio Showing of Jadd Tank’s Bourgeois-Z

February 25 @ 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm

Free

Bourgeois-Z explores the architectural and emotional effects of capitalism on our cultures, bodies and choices. In under 12 minutes, Bourgeois-Z brings audiences face to face with the backhanded reality of resiliency as a celebrated archetype of human experience that results directly from a system which creates the very conditions in which resiliency is needed. In under 12 minutes, we will experience reward, loss, celebration, mourning, urgency and rebellion. In under 12 minutes, we will build, inaugurate and dismantle the myth and legend of capitalism.

Bourgeois-Z is created and directed by Jadd Tank. Originally created and performed as a solo and duet in Italy (2018), the USA group premiere of Bourgeois-Z will take place at the Barnstorm Dance Festival 2024, with support of 2024 Dance Source Houston’s Artist-in-Residence program.

This iteration of Bourgeois-Z is produced by The Pilot Dance Project with support from Let Creativity Happen! Grant from the City of Houston through the Houston Arts Alliance.

What will be shown at the Open Studio will be the first draft of 4 sections:
