10th Annual Houston APA (Asian Pacific American) Film Festival Day 3 UPDATED

OCA-Greater Houston is hosting its 10th Annual Houston APA (Asian Pacific American) Film Festival on June 20-22 and 27-28.

This event is FREE and open to the public and will showcase around 12 pieces that were either created by Asian Pacific Islander American (APIA) artists or tell the stories of APIAs.

Festival Day 3 Schedule:

Sunday, June 22, 1pm – 5pm
Location: Asia Society Texas Center (1370 Southmore Blvd, Houston, TX 77004)
Day 3 is co-presented by Asia Society Texas Center. Asia Society Texas Center is proud to be one of the host sites for the 2014 Festival.

Sriracha has earned a cult following, but the story of this spicy sauce is a mystery to most fans. Dedicated to Sriracha lovers, this fast-paced documentary travels around the globe to reveal its origin and the man behind the iconic rooster sauce.

LINSANITY chronicles the surprising rise of basketball player Jeremy Lin, who in February 2012, while playing for the New York Knicks, put together a record-breaking string of games, giving the world one of the most remarkable underdog stories ever to unfold in the history of sports.

Producer Brian Yang will attend the screening and participate in a Q&A with the audience.

A compelling portrait of Jake Shimabukuro, an inspiring and inventive musician whose virtuoso skills on the ukulele have transformed all previous notions of the instruments potential. Through intimate conversations with Shimabukuro, LIFE ON FOUR STRINGS reveals the cultural and personal influences that have shaped the man and the musician.

Tadashi Nakamura will attend the screening and participate in a Q&A with the audience.

The Houston Asian Pacific American Film Festival aims to entertain and educate Asian American youth and young professionals, to reach out to the community, and to support Asian Pacific Islander artists and filmmakers. Through partnerships with community organizations, the film festival brings attendees together to appreciate the diversity of the Asian Pacific Islander American (APIA) community and the commonalities shared by the groups.
