2022 Dance Salad Festival

2022 marks the 25th season of Dance Salad Festival in Houston with distinctly different evening performances on April 14, 15 and 16 – each interwoven with several pieces of choreography as a compelling whole, never to be seen together again.
Dance Salad Festival is a globally recognized celebration of dance with genres ranging from the poetic sensitivity of Asian-influenced dance to the engaging rhythms of African-inspired modern dance to the captivating Argentinean tango to the unexpected range of contemporary Mexican dance to the precise movements of European ballet. Community outreach activities take place prior to the three nights of the festival performances (April 14-16, 2022): (1) April 10-12, 2022: Artist-to-Artist Workshops at citywide venues introduce visiting dancers and choreographers to the Houston dance community to share skills, provide creative motivation, and encourage collaboration; (2) April 13, 2022: DSF Choreographers’ Forum co-hosted with MFAH at its Brown Auditorium; (3) April 14, 2022: Afternoon Student Concert at the Wortham Center.
In addition, screenings of the film “A Taste of Dance Salad” can be requested and shown free of charge at senior residences, schools, colleges, libraries, and community centers in the Houston area throughout the year.
