First launched in 2019, the Fresh Arts Summit is an annual conference for regional visual and performing artists of all disciplines who seek to advance their entrepreneurial skills, expand their peer network, and tap into local resources. More importantly, the Summit serves as a valuable knowledge-sharing opportunity. To date has positioned more than 75 local artists of all backgrounds as presenters and topic experts and has become an important community-building weekend for artists to stay informed and connected.
Our 2022 Summit theme is Building Community. In our “post-COVID” world, we found ourselves in a situation where we have to relearn how to connect IRL after being online for so long. What is community? Which communities do individuals gravitate towards? How are communities built? Join us for the 4th annual Fresh Arts Summit to explore these questions while identifying and deepening what community means to you.
Join us August 19-20, 2022 at Silver Street Studios for the 4th annual Fresh Arts Summit as we present a two-day series of artist panels, round table discussions, presentations, and peer-to-peer learning opportunities focused on Building Community across creative communities.
Topics will include supporting artists and collaborations, fundraising and funding models, connecting and supporting communities, and more. Sessions will be led by organizational partners and field experts including practicing artists and other creative leaders working in the Houston arts community.
The Summit is ideal for emerging to established artists, makers, and creatives of all disciplines who seek to expand their peer network and tap into local resources.
