Body as a Work of Art: More Than Skin Deep

“Body as a Work of Art: More Than Skin Deep” explores the dichotomy of inner and outer beauty through a series of thought-provoking and interactive collections curated by The Health Museum.

The John P. McGovern Museum of Health and Medical Science has inaugurated its newest exhibition, Body as a Work of Art: More Than Skin Deep and the dedication of Reflections, 2015, a gift by art patron and philanthropist, Dr. Carolyn Farb, h.c. Additional time info:

At the centerpiece of Body as a Work of Art: More Than Skin Deep is the BODYSUITS collection by Los Angeles-based artist Sarah Sitkin. By directly molding actual bodies, Sitkin’s BODYSUITS has turned human bodies into wearable garments. The wearer is invited to empathize, confront, and reevaluate the judgement we hold to the bodies of others as well as our own by literally walking in “someone else’s skin.”
