Chinese Calligraphy (Livestreaming)
Chinese painting and calligraphy together are referred to as the twin sisters. Calligraphy is used in painting for a reason: for an artist to both sign and date their work. In addition, artists often add a poem that relates to the subject or feeling of the painting. Works of pure calligraphy also traditionally decorate sitting rooms. In this course we will learn such basic skills as the eight brushstrokes and classical wrist and elbow movements, as well as the characters for the four seasons, “happiness,” “peaceful,” and “unite.”
