“Art meets science” in this latest body of work by Joseph Cohen in the culminating chapter of his trilogy
Houston-based artist and scientist Joseph Cohen builds on his “Looking at a Flower” trilogy by introducing his “Nanostrings” series, accompanied by a hexalogy of multi-layered squares, one central piece, and selected works from Chapters 1 & 2. In Chapter 3, his new works incorporate a range of nanomaterials – from tracer dyes to separated carbon nanotubes – that fluoresce outside of the visible spectrum, both ultraviolet and infrared.
