New Living, a Certified Benefit Corporation, will be hosting Fallen Timber, an art show dedicated to expressing the value and beauty of reclaimed wood. A group of local artists will exhibit pieces created from, or that pay a tribute to, fallen timber.
Fallen Timber could come from trees destroyed by a hurricane, drought, insects– or the increasingly likely chance of being in the pathway of Houston's urban development. Like humans, trees record memory.
Fallen Timber will attempt to tell the story of trees that are destroyed by natural causes and what happens to them after they die.

New Living will host this show in their artisan furniture gallery and Made At New Living workshop on Kirby Drive. New Living and its artisans want to educate Houston to make better decisions that protect the well-being of our families and environment, while also incubating a marketplace for clean, local production of goods.
