A photo exhibition of the diplomat Gromyko about his life and contributions to the UN as a founding member.

As the preeminent soviet diplomat of his time Andrei Andreyevich Gromyko served as one of the founders of the United Nations. Throughout his career he served in many posts, from being the “Head of the Department of the Americas” within the “People’s Commissariat for Foreign Affairs”, to being the “Minister of Foreign Affairs” and finally being appointed as the “Chairman of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet”. As the preeminent soviet diplomat of his time Andrei Andreyevich Gromyko served as one of the founders of the United Nations. Throughout his career he served in many posts, from being the “Head of the Department of the Americas” within the “People’s Commissariat for Foreign Affairs”, to being the “Minister of Foreign Affairs” and finally being appointed as the “Chairman of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet”. He was one of the major diplomatic players involved in the “Cuban Missile Crisis”, as well as personally working on SALT I and SALT II. He served his country with distinction and dignity for many years up until a year before his death on July 2nd 1989.

Here at the Russian Cultural Center we are proud to announce that we will be presenting a photo exhibition dedicated to this historic figure. Come join us in turning back the clock of time to ponder on one of the greatest political minds of the 20th century.

The exhibition’s grand opening will be on September 4th at 6pm and will continue until the 18th of September. Wine will be served as we take a trip down memory lane.
