An unveiling of Houston Freedmen’s Town Conservancy’s “Freedmen’s Town Antioch Mural Project” that tells the story of Houston’s evolution.
This event is an unveiling of Houston Freedmen’s Town Conservancy’s “Freedmen’s Town Antioch Mural Project”. The mural is a contextual exploration of the visual landscape surrounding Antioch Missionary Baptist Church in the late 1800 that tells the story of Houston’s evolution. In collaboration with Antioch MBC and featured Houstonian artist, Mathieu Jean Baptiste, the event will include the art unveiling, video presentation, and open discussion about the project and the need for visual storytelling about “The Story of Freedom”.
