July 7- August 12th, 2023, Exhibitions

The Front BOX gallery is a four-person show entitled “Traces” featuring artist Peter Broz, Angel Castelán, Kevin Lopez, and Charles VanMeter. Through painting, drawing, and sculpture, “Traces” examines both external and internal forces that influence the human experience and what we make of them. Sarah DePetris takes over our Back BOX gallery to create “An Almost Rainbow” an exhibition of multi-dimensional drawings about the almost and not-yet-made. Finally, Michelle Thomas Richardson transforms Box13’s Window Gallery into a breaking news “(store)Front” reminiscent of television and radio window displays popular in the 1950s and 1960s. Drawing parallels to present-day, the installation responds to the 24-hour news cycle and the cyclical nature of history as portrayed through the media.

These exhibitions continue through August 12th, 2023. An Opening Reception will be held on Friday, July 7th 6:30PM – 9:30PM at BOX 13 ArtSpace, 6700 Harrisburg, Houston, TX 77011.
