What does it mean to write a chronicle of your journey? Can you write a memoir as a tale? How can you chronicle specific journeys or times in your life?
In this writing workshop, we’ll talk about how you can chronicle a specific life journey. Maybe it’s your parenting journey, your passage through divorce and into wholeness, your transition into retirement, or any significant life event you are navigating through. We’ll look at short excerpts of writing from authors who have navigated such journeys, including Kelly Sundberg’s essay “The Witching Hour,” selections from Cheryl Strayed’s memoir “Wild,” and Hank Leukhart’s travel narrative “Without Baggage.”
We’ll talk about how these writers hone in on specific parts of their life’s journey and how they convey what they have learned. This workshop may result in an essay or even a series of blog posts, depending upon the goals and interests of participants.
