Second Baptist School

In December 1946, a group of dedicated Houstonians combined their talents and resources and established through the Church a unique educational experience. The purpose of founding the school was to provide a place of learning where students would not only grow academically, physically, and socially, but they would grow spiritually as well. February 3, 1947, Second Baptist School opened its doors to 14 kindergarten students. Today, SBS is a widely recognized Christian collegiate community, serving approximately 1,000 students from PK-12. The school enjoys the use of nearly 1,000,000 square feet of educational and recreational facilities on a 42 acre, Memorial area campus.

Shalom Health Ministry

Shalom is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit clinic in Houston’s East End providing primary and preventative healthcare to uninsured, indigent individuals. Our patients have trusted Shalom as their healthcare home since 1997. Mission "To bring healthcare to the underserved." Company Overview – Shalom’s mission is "Bringing Healthcare to the Underserved" because all people are deserving children of God. For thirteen years Shalom Health Ministry has provided affordable, quality primary and preventative healthcare services to low-income, uninsured residents in the Houston area. We are located in Houston’s East End where approximately 40 – 50% of the residents are uninsured. Sojourn Community Church / Sojourn Studio Residency

The Sojourn Community Church of the Heights supports the arts with a unique program called the Sojourn Studio Residency. Sojourn gives chosen artists a cash stipend and space to create an installation or series of work over the course of two months with a biannual exhibition also hosted by the church. Sojourn Studio Residency aims to build community within the Houston Arts scene and assist individuals through equipping and promoting their passions. Sojourn Heights invites Houston area artists to participate in the Sojourn Studio Residency program. All artists are provided a $250 stipend and space to create an installation or series of work over the course of two months. We can only host one artist per two months, totaling three artists per six months. Sojourn Heights will then put on and promote a biannual exhibition featuring all three artists. You do not need to be affiliated with any particular religion to take part in this residency. Our goal is simply to create a community environment through the arts in Houston. Founded in 1975, St. Dominic Village is a faith-based, non-profit, continuing care retirement community dedicated to caring for our elders with the compassion of Christ. As a member of the Texas Medical Center and a ministry of the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston, St. Dominic Village provides a seamless continuum of care comprised of short-term rehabilitation, skilled nursing care, assisted living including memory care services, independent living, Pope John XXIII Priest's Residence and respite care services including Angel House, which provides housing for individuals and their families who are in need of an affordable, safe environment while receiving treatment in the Texas Medical Center. We strive to provide a welcoming home with the very highest standard of care to each of our residents according to his or her needs, regardless of race or creed, while celebrating and promoting each one's inherent, personal dignity. We serve approximately 300 long-term and 300 short-term residents and patients, as well as 3,000 Angel House guests, each year.
