WeLead was founded to represent possibilities, present opportunities and connect communities across the world to build the next generation. Through community programming and engaging social activities, we strive to recruit a diverse group of professionals while simultaneously increasing monetary resources needed to support our programs and partner projects. There is always work that needs to be done and it should be tied to service. Our primary goal is to encourage Good Governance through unconventional innovative community programs. In addition, to create a special purpose vehicle to empower millennials that have an entrepreneurial spirit that will impact globally rather it be through science, technology, engineering or mathematics. WeLead will continue to bridge the gap regarding cultural awareness through the arts. Whiskies of the World

Originating in San Francisco, Whiskies of the World is now a series of five hugely popular whisky festivals taking place in California, Texas and Georgia. Whiskies of the World offers guests the opportunity to taste superlative whiskies and to meet the outstanding personalities of the whisky world. Featuring whiskies from Scotland, Ireland, the USA, Canada, Japan and Australia, Whiskies of the World will surprise even the most savvy connoisseur. Douglas Smith Whiskies of the World® Event Director Douglas Smith took over the Whiskies of the World® Expo, the oldest whisky tasting event in Northern America in 2009. The Expo enjoyed immediate growth on several fronts. In 2011, Douglas entered a strategic alliance with The IWSC Group to strive for even more prominent results for the San Francisco show and for the Whiskies of the World® Expo brand in general.

White Linen Night in the Heights

White Linen Night in The Heights started in 2006 at the suggestion of New Orleans native and then Hurricane Katrina transplants Chris Thayer and his wife, Kay, who had opened a boutique on 19th Street when they were displaced by the storm. The event was patterned after a similar event in The French Quarter Arts district in New Orleans where residents came out dressed in their white linen finest to see local art. The Thayers and the Heights First Saturday group organized the event as a way to promote interest and traffic to 19th street so local businesses could thrive in the hot Houston summer. The event has now grown to become a neighborhood wide event that is known throughout Greater Houston.

Woodlands Development Company

The Woodlands Development Company, a subsidiary of Mitchell Energy and Development Corporation, opened The Woodlands in 1974. The 27,000 acre master-planned community has all the elements of a complete city, with full commercial, industrial and residential development supported by a highly acclaimed school district. Its diversified employment base supports its residential community. The driving philosophy behind The Woodlands was and is to preserve the natural forest, while carving out places to live, work, play and learn. Neighborhoods are tucked just behind the thick walls of trees lining major roads, where the medians are sown with wildflowers, signage is unobtrusive and builders are required to leave significant native vegetation surrounding home sites. The Woodlands has four zones of business development: Town Center, Research Forest, Trade Center and College Park. Similar to a downtown, Town Center is host to more than 500 businesses, shops, restaurants and entertainment, and includes the 1.1 million square foot Woodlands Mall, a 17-screen Cinemark Tinseltown theatre, Pinecroft Center and a variety of restaurants. The Trade Center is home to light manufacturing; and the 1,000-acre Research Forest is for academic and non-profit research institutes and industry such as product development laboratories and centers for medical and biotechnology research.

Our entertainment and consultant agency launched its first ever reggae concert on Sunday, August 27th, 2000 at Herman Square Park in Houston, TX. The concert titled, “Reggae Summerfest 2000 – A Tribute to the Legends", provided reggae lovers with live music that appealed to all ages. Children under 12 were presented with free admission. Featured artistes that performed at our production that year were the renowned Maxi Priest, Toots and the Maytals, Step Rideau, and Zydeco Outlaws. Along with the vibrant entertainers were vendors who catered to the concert supporters with an array of rich Caribbean cuisine and arts. During the same year, on Sunday, October 29th, 2000, World Beat Music Group, Inc. hosted its’ second concert, titled, "Reggae Palooza 2000", in Texas. Grammy award winner, “The Burning Spear”, was the featured presenter. “Reggae Palooza 2000” was fulfilled with other world leading artistes and Texas’ local bands. The concert had Caribbean music lovers in ecstasy and natural exhilaration. World Beat Music Group, Inc. has continued to produce better-quality live and safe entertainment from 2002 to present, and in 2007 we are anticipating another brilliant and unforgettable three day concert, titled, "4th annual Houston Reggaefest, "Tribute to Bob Marley" to be held over the Memorial weekend in Houston, TX at Tom Bass Park. WorldFest was founded as Cinema Arts, an International Film Society in August, 1961. WorldFest became the third competitive international film festival in North America, following San Francisco and New York. WorldFest is the oldest Independent Film & Video Festival in the World. It evolved into a competitive International Film Festival in April, 1968. It was founded by award-winning producer/director Hunter Todd to present a quality film festival for the Independent filmmakers. Hunter Todd has been honored with more than 115 international awards for creative excellence in film production, and he has been the producer, director, writer and/or cameraman on more than 300 motion picture and video productions. The mission/vision statement of WorldFest is to recognize and honor outstanding creative excellence in film & video, to validate brilliant abilities and to promote cultural tourism for Houston, to develop film production in the region and to add to the rich cultural fabric of the city of Houston.
