With Israel painted by the international media as a place of terror and fear, Tuesday Night Live comes to set the record straight by introducing thinkers, educators, activists, and regular people on the street who share a tangible excitement and optimism about life in Israel. TNL attracts audience members worldwide which cover the spectrum of age, nationality, and religion. By breaking the mold and combining spirituality, current events, and humor, TNL has shifted the way people around the world experience Judaism and Israel. With dynamic interviews, hilarious segments, and the best of Israel’s music scene, Tuesday Night Live in Jerusalem offers viewers the opportunity to plug into the heart and soul of Jerusalem every Tuesday Night. In addition to their Television and international speaking tours, Ari and Jeremy host the popular “Light unto the Nations” talk show on Israel National Radio. In addition to captivating and often confrontational interviews, the program serves as a vehicle for Ari and Jeremy to share their lives in Israel, their perspectives on current events in the Middle East, and the spiritual insights they glean from their experiences on the forefront of Israeli activism. Each show is approximately one hour and twenty minutes long.

Town Center Theatre

Town Center Theatre (TCT) is a professional, non-profit performing arts organization dedicated to providing quality live entertainment and educational theatre to the surrounding community in which it operates. Town Center Theatre was originally conceived and launched by Artistic Directors Joey Milillo and Chris Tennison and Managing Director Aaron Stryk – three alumni from the University of St. Thomas who recognized a need for professional theater in The Woodlands area, which has become one of the most burgeoning and economically viable communities in the United States. Upon conducting a feasibility study of the area, they found that The Woodlands’ current population of about 85,000 contains certain favorable demographics that are comparable to a typical Broadway audience, thus indicating that TCT may fulfill a special niche in the community for theatre patrons who are unable to experience professionally staged shows locally. They concluded that conditions looked favorable for establishing a theatre in The Woodlands area, and from there, went ahead and set up a business plan for the theater. They set up TCT as a 501c(3) non-profit organization and incorporated the company with the state of Texas. They then established TCT’s by-laws and nominated an inaugural board of directors comprised of business owners, local residents of the community and theater enthusiasts. The board held their first meeting in March 2007 and concluded that a gala would be necessary to raise the necessary funds for TCT’s first production. In May 2007, Town Center Theatre held its inaugural season kick-off at The Woodlands Waterway Marriott Hotel and Convention Center. More than 120 community and business leaders from the area attended the event, which included a silent auction, cabaret performance and a sneak preview of TCT’s first production. Overall, nearly $22,000 was raised at the kick-off. At the event, the founders also announced the launch of TCT’s Capital Campaign, an initiative to raise funds to not only secure a permanent space, but to purchase capital such as seats, lighting and sound equipment, and all additional supplies needed to sustain day-to-day business activities. There are endless possibilities to what Town Center Theatre can accomplish in The Woodlands area, and we look forward to bringing to The Woodlands the best that professional theater has to offer!

Trebuchet Players is an artistic baby conceived over/under beers among friends in Houston, 2010. Our brains, hearts, and hands were all itching to create something in the theatre. We shared an affinity for the works of olden tymes (after all, we met at a Renaissance festival) and devised a project we hoped would do justice to the classics by animating them with wild, raw energy. The goal of Trebuchet Players is to present plays by Shakespeare and his ilk in the most relevant, accessible way possible; to that end, we try to support the primacy of the narrative, achieve great emotional depth on the stage, as the kids are saying, “keep it real.”

U.S. Dream Academy

Our mission is to empower children who are at risk of incarceration to maximize their potential by providing them with academic, social and values enrichment though supportive mentoring and the use of technology. Like its distinctive mission, the U.S. Dream Academy’s program sets it apart from other afterschool and mentoring organizations. The program starts with this principle: Beyond school, every young person we serve must spend 11 to 15 hours each week in a stimulating learning environment. One-on-one sessions with carefully matched mentors complement afterschool activities that combine academic fundamentals. The focus builds on three pillars – skill-building, character-building, and dream-building. The overall goal is to nurture the whole child while altering attitudes, enhancing self-esteem, supporting emotional and intellectual growth, and sparking dreams. From our earliest days, the Dream Academy has grounded its program in research and tested it in the field. A recently developed theory of change illustrates the relationship between this design and the outcomes we strive to achieve. Ongoing research and evaluation helps us determine results and continually strengthen the program. Anecdotal evidence tells us that the Dream Academy also has an important impact on the quality of education and classroom learning, suggesting that our program has the capacity to become a building block for better schools.

Their motto is “Comedy for people who have lost all hope.” The group was founded in December of 1999 by University of St. Thomas student Franz Hill. Unhinged Productions Is A Houston Production Company That Exists To Provide A GLBT Voice In Theatre. Because live theater has a unique ability to create a direct emotional connection with an audience, it can raise awareness on social issues in a way that no other medium can. Unhinged Production selects plays that speak, often with humor, to universal experiences that include discrimination, prejudice, and the quest for individuality. By highlighting these similarities, UP can create common ground between diverse communities and promote understanding. UP, started by founding Artistic Director Chris Jimmerson, has been producing professionally staged plays since 1999.

The UH School of Theatre & Dance produces plays, dance concerts, studio productions, a new play festival, and school shows through the Theatre for Young Audiences program. The school performs in the Wortham Theatre and the Quintero Theatre. The Houston Shakespeare Festival is a professional project of the school, which is produced each summer at Miller Outdoor Theatre. The UH School of Theatre & Dance offers bachelors and master’s degrees in theater and teacher certifications in dance. Its graduate program consists of a master of arts in theatre and master of fine arts in theatre with specializations in acting, directing and design. Faculty includes Pulitzer Prize winning playwright Edward Albee, Tony Award-winning playwright Mark Medoff, Tony Award-winning producer Stuart Ostrow, and Tony nominated designer Kevin Rigdon. Among the greats who have taught at the school in previous years are Lanford Wilson, Sir Peter Hall and Jose Quintero. Vietnamese Culture and Science Association promotes excellence in education, leadership and skills development through culture and science. Our organization encourages multi-generational and cross-cultural collaborations. We foster civic participation in the mainstream and Vietnamese America. Starting with 14 members in 1990, VCSA membership has increased to more than 650 by 2017 with the headquarter based in Houston, and seven other local chapters established in Texas, Minnesota, California, Washington DC, Toronto, Ontario and Vancouver, BC, Canada. VCSA established its first Community Center in Houston to deliver year-round programs and services benefiting the local Vietnamese-American community. In the last twenty six years, VCSA has had an excellent track record of community service and continuing support for community leadership development among young people. In October 2002, VCSA was recognized as the Runner-up of the National Independent Sector Leadership Award (offered by Independent Sectors Inc., a national federation of national organizations from across the country, based in Washington DC.) for its commitment to community service and leadership development for the younger generations of Vietnamese-Americans. In July 2007, VCSA received the Golden Wave Award offered by Little Saigon Radio and Viet Tide Magazine based in California and Texas, as the Most Outstanding Community Organization for the Vietnamese American communities in Texas. In 2015, VCSA received the Outstanding Community Organization award by the Vietnamese American Medical Association in Greater Houston area.
