Come explore the nature of color and its expressive forms in abstract painting.
Joel McGlasson is a retired architect and re-emerging artist. In the ’60s and 70s his artwork was exhibited in many Houston art galleries including The Museum of Fine Arts and The Contemporary Arts Museum. Soon afterward he prioritized his family and settled into a career as an architect, putting his art career on hold. Since his retirement in 2011 he relaunched his painting career by working with color and abstract forms. This art show features some of his early work from the past decade and his most recent paintings.
Parking is always at a premium in the Houston Museum District, but free parallel parking can be found in the neighborhood surrounding The Center. The Museum of Fine Arts operates a paid parking garage across Montrose Boulevard from The Center and a paid surface lot right next door to The Center.
Should you have a handicap sticker, hanger, or license plate, please feel free to use any available space in The Jung Center’s staff parking lot, on the south side of the building.
