Join us for an exploration of the emerging therapeutic work with resilience.
Instructor Don Streit will illustrate ways participants can facilitate the efforts of their clients to experience resilience in recovery from crises and trauma. Through videos, personal stories, and references to literature, we will identify characteristics of resilience, and seek out where we’re already doing a good job of developing resilient skills and behaviors – both in ourselves, and in our clients. We’ll also be reminded of many factors that affect the development of resilience: positive psychology, social connections and support, altruism, rituals, physical fitness, spiritual or religious practices, and a sense of meaning and purpose. While this program is geared towards mental health professionals, all are welcome!
