Moss-covered angels and stately weeping cypress trees make this 150 year-old cemetery reminiscent of the Old South.
It covers 65 pastoral acres and features dramatic views of Buffalo Bayou and the skyscrapers of downtown. Be sure and pay your respects to Howard Hughes when you visit. This son of Houston is buried near the ornate caretaker’s cottage.
At one time this was Washington Road and connected Houston proper with Camp Logan, a WW I Army training facility that is now Memorial Park.
